Who We Are
Winam Pediatric and Maternal Health Solutions (WPMHS) is a community-based, non-profit organization based in Siaya County, Kenya. We are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women and children in underserved communities through locally led programs in healthcare access, education, and advocacy.
Founded by a team of global health scientists and local leaders, our work combines community outreach, clinical care, and scientific innovation to address the root causes of maternal and child mortality.
We believe that real change happens when communities are empowered — not just treated. For over two decades, our team members have partnered with families, health workers, and universities in Kenya and around the world to deliver care that is sustainable, compassionate, and grounded in health for all.

Mission
To enhance community health and well-being through accessible, sustainable healthcare and education.
Vision
A healthier, more empowered global community where every mother and child can access quality healthcare.
“Addressing the global community’s most urgent health challenges requires innovative solutions that foster access to care, mentorship, and deeply rooted local partnerships.”
— Dr. DJ Perkins, Founder & Chair
How We Work
We partner with:
International collaborators focused on sustainable health solutions
Local hospitals, clinics, and health ministries
Academic institutions such as Maseno University (Kenya) and University of New Mexico (U.S.)
All our programs are built on trust, scientific evidence, and local partnerships — ensuring that our efforts are responsive, respectful, and long-lasting for sustained community health improvements.

Why It Matters
Communities in Western Kenya face some of the highest global burdens of diseases, such as sickle cell anemia, malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, and bacterial infections, which are leading causes of child and maternal deaths. Through our work, we are transforming how communities access care and empowering families to lead healthier lives.
